Upcoming Tata And Mahindra Car Launches In India – ZigWheels.com

India’s SUV space is gearing up for some big moves, and Tata Motors and Mahindra are set to play a central role. Over the next year and a half, both carmakers will bring in facelifts of popular models as well as revival of a classic SUV nameplate. These launches will not just refresh their portfolios but also push the competition in the compact and mid-size SUV space.
Here’s a closer look at what is coming from Tata and Mahindra in the Indian auto market.
Expected Price: Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom)
After being on sale for about half a decade, the three-door Mahindra Thar is up for a mid-life update. Spy shots of the facelifted Thar have already surfaced, featuring subtle changes, including redesigned grille, a revised rear bumper, and updated tail lamps. The overall boxy and muscular stance stays true to the Thar’s off-road DNA.

Inside, the facelift could bring a major refresh, with dual 10.25-inch screens, wireless Android Auto/ Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, and ventilated seats. Safety is also expected to be improved with six airbags and structural updates.
Powertrain options are likely to remain familiar, with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines carrying forward, along with the entry-level 1.5-litre diesel for RWD variants. Launch is expected in early 2026, with a mild price bump as well over the current model.
Harrier Expected Price: Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom)
Safari Expected Price: Rs 15.50 lakh (ex-showroom)
Tata is expected to refresh both the Harrier and Safari SUVs with mild styling updates and interior revisions, with no changes to the feature set. These include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, powered driver and passenger seats, dual-zone climate control, and a 12.3-inch infotainment system.

The SUVs are currently powered by a 2-litre diesel engine delivering 170PS and 350Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. However, Tata Motors is also expected to broaden their appeal with the introduction of a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine option.
Expected Price: Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom)
For many, the Sierra name evokes nostalgia, and Tata is finally bringing it back in a modern avatar. Set for launch between October 2025 and March 2026, the Sierra will blend its retro charm with contemporary styling, including connected LED lights, a muscular stance, and flush door handles.

The cabin will feature a wide floating three-screen setup across the dashboard, a four-spoke steering wheel with illuminated logo, and a minimalist cabin layout. Expected features include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ventilated and powered seats, multi-colour ambient lighting, and Level-2 ADAS.
Engine details remain under wraps, but Tata is expected to offer it with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and possibly a diesel engine option as well. Positioned in the compact SUV space, the Sierra will rival the likes of the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Skoda Kushaq.
