New Kia Seltos Unveiled in India – CarWale

The second-generation Kia Seltos has been revealed ahead of its market debut in 2026. It is being offered across three engine options and four trim levels—HTE, HTK, HTX, GT-Line and X-Line. Bookings for the same on 10 December with a price announcement on 2 January 2025.
This 2025 second-gen Seltos gets a completely new face with the latest Kia’s tiger nose grille and a completely new bumper, whilst on the side there are pop-out door handles and new aero-oriented wheels quite similar to what’s there on the Carens and Carens Clavis EV. The rear gets connected vertical tail lamps, giving the car quite a unique look.
As expected, this new Kia Seltos shares much of its cabin with the Carens Clavis and gets the same colour schemes and layout as the MPV. The highlight of the front seats is a new centre console, massive 12.3-inch dual displays, new three-spoke Kia steering wheel, and panoramic sunroof. The second row splits 60:40 on the top-spec models and also reclines for additional comfort. The boot capacity stands at 447-litres with a power function for the tailgate. The overall length has grown from 4.36 metres to 4.46 metres whilst the wheelbase has grown to 2,690mm, an increase of 80mm over the outgoing model.
The feature list includes the standard set of elements we have come to expect with the Seltos like dual-zone climate control, Bose sound system, Level-2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, HUD, connected car technology, ambient lighting, reclining second row, and a full-LED light package. The safety package includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, stability programme, and hill-start assist across the range.
This new Kia Seltos, like its predecessor, will be offered with three powertrain options. The entry-level option is a 1.5-litre NA petrol producing 113bhp and 144Nm, whilst the more desirable petrol is a 1.5-litre GDi producing 158bhp and 253Nm. A six-speed MT is common whilst the former gets a CVT and the latter with either a six-speed iMT or a seven-speed DCT. The diesel is Kia’s 1.5-litre unit producing 118bhp and 260Nm. This engine can be had with a six-speed MT or a six-speed AT. A hybrid powertrain had been rumoured but Kia has made no announcement of the same at the unveiling.
Kia will announce prices for this second-generation Seltos on 2 January, 2026 and we expect it to be in the range of Rs. 12 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh. It is Kia’s rival to the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Maruti Victoris, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, and the Volkswagen Taigun.
