New data confirms Britain's most wanted car of 2025 – Birmingham Live
The Nissan Juke has been named Britain's most wanted car of 2025, according to new data.
This is from Nationwide Vehicle Contracts, one of the UK’s leading leasing providers, showing that Nissan was ahead of the competition this year.
In second place came the Nissan Qashqai.

Small and mid-sized SUVs dominated lease sales with the broker this year, their top 5 most popular leased models in the UK were:
Interest in the Nissan Juke surged by 61% from December 2024 to August 2025, according to Google, showing the growing appetite for smaller SUVs.
Over 6 in 10 cars chosen were in black (63%), though bolder shades like red (20%) were also popular. In 2024, 82% of new cars were grey in comparison to only 17% in 2025.
Interestingly, among younger drivers (18-24), the Peugeot 208 remains the top model, with Volkswagen and Audi being the most selected manufacturers overall.
According to SMMT, electric cars accounted for 23% of the market, with the top choices for electric being Volkswagen and Renault.
SUV dominance continues across electric lease sales with the Renault Scenic E Tech and Peugeot e 5008 taking the top spots.
Keith Hawes, Director of Nationwide Vehicle Contracts, said: “2025 proved that British drivers value practicality and flexibility, with SUVs coming out as the most popular.
"Electric cars are also slowly gaining momentum, and we expect this to continue in 2026, as more affordable models and improved charging infrastructure come to market.
"Looking ahead, we anticipate a strong focus on sustainability and tech-driven features, with drivers prioritising greener options and smarter connectivity in the year ahead.”
