Mercedes-Benz will launch 12 new cars in India in 2026, including the CLA Electric. There’s no confirmation, but the CLA BEV could be the first of these major launches planned by the German marque for India this year. Mercedes-Benz’s upcoming lineup will include completely new models with no predecessors, as well as updated versions of existing models. The focus will be on luxury vehicles and advanced battery electric vehicles (BEVs), showing the brand’s commitment to innovation and high-quality experiences.
Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, shared his views on this development, and said, '2026 will be an action-packed year with 12 new product introductions, expansion of our local production portfolio, and the launch of the MB.Charge Public, expansion into new markets, and investment in upgrading our entire network.'
The automaker has started local production of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS at its Chakan plant near Pune, making India the first country outside the U.S. to assemble the ultra-luxury SUV. This decision has brought the price of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS in India to Rs 2.75 crore, a significant reduction from its earlier imported model, which was priced at Rs 3.17 crore.
Mercedes-Benz has also launched the Maybach GLS Celebration Edition, with a range of notable upgrades. Priced at Rs 4.10 crore, the Celebration Edition marks the most exclusive version of the SUV. It distinguishes itself with individual reclining seats (rear), bespoke leather finishes, foldable work tables, and a refrigerated console with Maybach champagne glasses, MBUX rear tablet, and a 29-speaker Burmester 3D audio system. Other details include Maybach signature dual-tone scheme, 23-inch forged exclusive wheels featuring a ceramically polished finish, and integrated wheel bolt covers.
