Hyundai new cars India 2026: Stunning launches to shake the market – Pune Mirror
Hyundai new cars India 2026 is set to redefine the brand’s presence across budget, premium and electric segments, with four significant launches lined up through the year.
Hyundai will first update the sixth-generation Verna, launched in March 2023 and now due for a mid-cycle facelift, following the company’s roughly 3-year global product lifecycle. The refreshed Verna is expected to get a sharper, more aggressive front inspired by the latest Sonata, along with a dual 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system, likely offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via Hyundai’s latest software suite.
The Hyundai Exter will also receive its mid-cycle facelift in the first half of 2026, gaining a redesigned interior with a 12.9-inch touchscreen and a 9.9-inch digital instrument display running an Android Automotive-based operating system. Exterior tweaks should include revised bumpers, updated headlamps and tail-lamps, and new 15-inch alloy wheels, while the existing 1.2-litre petrol powertrain line-up is expected to continue unchanged.
Around mid-2026, Hyundai is preparing to introduce the updated Ioniq 5, which has already been revealed globally with subtle styling revisions and added practicality features such as a rear wiper and washer. The facelifted electric crossover will feature a ccNC-based twin 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and infotainment system, Digital Key 2 and, in global markets, a larger 84 kWh battery that boosts range, although India’s final battery specification is yet to be officially confirmed.
Hyundai’s most strategically important launch for India in 2026 is expected to be the all-new Bayon, slated for the festive season. This second-generation Bayon, unlike the current international model, will be a sub-4-metre SUV positioned above the Venue, featuring a sportier, more technical exterior and riding on the next-generation i20 platform, with a new hybrid-ready 1.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine.
Together, these Hyundai new cars India 2026 launches signal an aggressive push to blend connected-car technology, electrification and fresh design across hatchback-based sedans, micro-SUVs and premium EVs. For Indian buyers, the rollout promises more choice in key high-growth segments, with Hyundai aiming to strengthen its position against rivals in both conventional and electric markets through incremental yet meaningful upgrades.
