The top 10 most expensive cars to insure in 2026 – USA Today
Car shoppers are paying more than ever for new models, and the cost of insuring them has also been going up in recent years.
The average cost of full coverage car insurance in the United States in December 2025 was $2,312 annually, or $193 per month, according to Experian data that the group said was based on policies sold through their automotive insurance marketplace. That’s down from the average annual payment of $2,746 that Experian reported in December 2024, but it’s up significantly from the average payment of $2,140 that the group reported in March 2023.
The finding comes as car shoppers paid a record average of $50,326 for new cars in December 2025, according to Kelley Blue Book.
With all that in mind, the USA TODAY Cars team took a look at several popular insurance tracking websites like Insure.com, Insurify.com and Carsedge.com and compiled a list of the 10 most expensive models to insure.
