In a bid to regain lost market share, Tata Motors is planning to launch Sierra EV, Punch facelift and petrol versions of the Harrier and Safari SUVs during festive season, 2025. The company is currently testing these 4 SUVs, and the Punch facelift will be the first to launch in our market. Let’s talk about these 4 upcoming Tata SUVs in detail –

Tata Motors will finally launch the petrol versions of the Harrier and Safari SUVs in the country by November 2025. Both SUVs recently received new Adventure and Adventure X personas, which brings high-end features at lower price. With petrol versions, Tata Motors would aim to further accelerate its sales in the highly competitive mid-sized SUV segment.
The two SUVs will be powered by a newly developed 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, TGDi (turbocharged petrol engine) that produces 170PS and 280Nm of torque. For gearbox duties, Tata Motors could add 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT (Dual-Clutch Automatic Transmission) options. The new powertrain will be compliant with the BS6 Phase 2 emission norms. Moreover, the engine is compatible with E20 fuel.

Tata Motors will re-introduce the iconic Sierra nameplate in a new avatar this festive season. The company will first launch the Sierra EV before Diwali, around October 2025, while the ICE version will arrive in our market in the first quarter of 2026. It will be based on the brand’s Acti.ev gen2 platform that also underpins the Punch EV and Curvv EV.
The Tata Sierra EV is expected to share the battery packs with the Harrier EV, which comes with 65kWh and 75kWh batteries. While the Tata Harrier EV is a rear-wheel-drive model along with a QWD or AWD option, the Sierra EV will most likely to be a front-wheel-drive SUV. However, Tata could add a dual-motor AWD set-up in the top-spec variants. We expect the higher-spec Sierra electric to offer a realistic range of around 450-500km on a single charge.

Tata Motors will give a mid-life update to its hugely popular compact SUV, the Punch micro SUV by October 2025. The Punch facelift has already been caught testing multiple times on the Indian roads. It is likely to receive subtle design and interior changes along with new features.
The Tata Punch facelift is likely to receive design changes in-line with the Nexon and Punch EV. It is expected to get a revised grille, updated bumpers, and new alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the small SUV could get a new two-spoke steering wheel, new upholstery for seats, a larger 10.2-inch digital driver’s display.
The micro SUV will continue to be powered with the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine paired to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT unit. This engine churns out 87bhp and 115Nm of torque. A factory-fitted CNG kit could also be on offer.
