It probably will but I think I'll stick with my gas-guzzling FJ Cruiser.

If Fj offered with diesel I will definitely get one to replace my old forty. Definitely it will have less tech than Chinese car but my old forty served me well without any problems

This makes me wonder if Toyota is still planning to make a next gen Fortuner. The Fortuner, despite its age and frankly, its underwhelming product substance, is still a best seller among many countries like India, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, and more. The only market it failed to penetrate was Australia. The fact that Toyota discontinued the Fortuner for that region could mean that Toyota is content with how the Fortuner is doing and they see no major returns if they were to spend the R&D to make a new generation model, especially with global emissions and safety standards tightening up, limiting the Fortuner's appeal to the said countries only which have less strict standards. The Fortuner will, for good or for worse, still remain a best seller despite all efforts from competitors.
