What started as a family-owned business in Sydney has become a 20-store national distributor of car wheels thanks to its latest Border addition.

Ozzy Tyres Albury will cater for Border revheads’ wheel, rim and tyre needs.
The business was founded more than 30 years ago by Ali Chahine and is now under the stewardship of his son Hussein Chahine.
Unlike other automotive stores in the Albury-Wodonga area, owner Rocky Singh said Ozzy Tyres provided a very personalised and customised experience.
With strip lighting, waterfall stone countertops and rims ranging from four-wheel drive options to metallic gold, and even matte pink, Ozzy Tyres is anything but your run-of-the-mill pit stop.
“We have taken the tyre industry to a completely new level,” Mr Singh said.
“Before you even get the wheels, you can go and select your car on our website and you can select the wheels and [it will] show you what the wheel will look like on your car.
“At the same time, we [also do] tyres for everyday use, so if someone doesn’t want to modify their cars or lift, we can do that as well.”
Mr Singh is no stranger to business, having run Boost Juice stores in Albury-Wodonga for the last 15 years, but smoothies and coconut water are a far cry from treads and suspension fluid.
It was his friend Alex Singh who prompted him to act on his passion for cars in 2023 and take the leap into a whole new industry.
“I’ve always been in love with cars and this is probably one of the reasons why I started this business,” Mr Singh said.
“I want to follow my passion and I’ve been always passionate about cars.”
“I approached [Hussein], we went through the interview process and all the qualifications they wanted to see in me.
“Then we sourced our own land, we started this from scratch [and] it took us two years to be where we are right now.”
Ozzy Tyres will host a grand opening event on Saturday, December 6, from 8am to 5pm to celebrate the new Lavington motoring enthusiast hub.
“We invited all the local car clubs, there will be a DJ here, there will be a barbecue here all day and there will be a lot of giveaways,” Mr Singh said.
“We’re giving away a free set of wheels and a free suspension, [and] also $1000 to the best car we pick.”
