Renault Nissan new car launches spark stunning India comeback – Pune Mirror

Renault Nissan new car launches are set to dramatically reshape the carmaker duo’s India portfolios over the next two years, with five new models planned by 2027.
Nissan will open 2026 with the Gravite, its first sub-4-metre MPV for India and a rebadged version of the Renault Triber, currently the only model in this segment. The Gravite will get a larger radiator grille with horizontal inserts, block-lettered badging on the bonnet, more angular bumpers and tall C-shaped silver trim, while retaining the Triber’s engine and transmission options with only minor interior changes.
The third-generation Renault Duster will debut on 26 January and is expected to launch in February on the CMF-B LS platform as a far more advanced SUV than the first-generation model sold earlier in India. The India-spec Duster will feature unique DRLs, repositioned fog lamps, and tail-lamp light bands connecting to the logo. It could add ventilated front seats, with 1.0- and 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engines and a hybrid variant planned by early next year.
Nissan will unveil the Tekton next month as the corporate cousin to the new Duster, with an almost unique exterior, a sharper Patrol-inspired front end, a broadly shared interior and engine line-up, a launch targeted for around March, and a hybrid variant eyed for the second quarter of 2027. Between October and December, Renault will roll out a three-row Duster-based SUV with 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, possible two-tone paint, a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine and a hybrid system due in 2027.
Nissan has also confirmed a three-row C-SUV for India that will act as a corporate cousin to Renault’s seven-seat SUV, mirroring the Tekton approach with unique exterior styling, shared underpinnings, and a launch roughly a month later. Together, these Renault Nissan new car launches signal a renewed, long-term commitment to India after years of limited activity, positioning the alliance to compete more aggressively in fast-growing MPV and SUV segments.
