The long-awaited Tata Sierra will finally launch in our market on November 25, 2025. The company will first launch the ICE-powered version, while the Sierra EV is expected to arrive in December 2025 or January 2026. The new model will be marketed as a lifestyle SUV and will go against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Victoris and others in the mid-sized SUV category.
The Sierra ICE will be offered with petrol and diesel engine choices. If reports are to be believed, the SUV will mark the debut of a new 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine. Moreover, the SUV will also get a 1.5-litre, turbocharged petrol engine that debuted alongside the 1.2L turbo unit at the 2023 Auto Expo.
The diesel version is likely to get a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo unit that powers the Tata Curvv SUV Coupe. Tata could also utilise the 2.0L turbo diesel engine that powers the Harrier and Safari. Transmission choices could include a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The Tata Sierra EV is likely to source battery options with the Harrier EV, including a 65kWh and a 75kWh. It will be a front-wheel-drive electric SUV, but the top-spec model could get a dual-motor AWD set-up.
The Tata Sierra will come with a triple screen dashboard, which we have seen in the Mahindra XEV 9e. The SUV will be based on a front-wheel-drive platform and will measure around 4.3-4.4 meters in length. Most of its features are likely to be shared with the Harrier EV.

Tata Motors will aim to price the new Sierra aggressively. The entry-level variants will get the 1.5L NA petrol engine, and is expected to carry a starting price of around Rs 10.5 – 11 lakh. The higher-spec model is expected to be priced around Rs 20-21 lakh. The Sierra EV is likely to be priced around Rs 18 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.
