Introduction
The festive season may have just passed, and with many positive results, but that’s not going to stop the auto industry from rolling out new models, including some major ones next month. The mix mostly consists of known faces in new avatars, significant updates, and the return of an iconic nameplate. What’s in store? Let’s find out!
The second-gen Hyundai Venue is set to arrive on 4 November, six years after the car was first introduced. On the outside, the Venue now falls in line with other Hyundai SUVs in terms of styling and design elements, and this is visible in the grille, wheels, and connected tail lamps.
Photos of the interior reveal a dual-tone cabin with black over beige, new interface for the climate control system, revised centre console, ventilated seats, and both drive and traction modes. Hyundai has confirmed that this second-gen Venue will get Level 2 ADAS, dual 12.3-inch digital displays, and OTA updates. It will continue with its three engine options – 1.2-litre NA petrol, 1.5-litre diesel, and 1.0-litre turbo petrol. The Venue is Hyundai’s most important compact model, as it will take on cars like the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, Maruti Fronx, Toyota Taisor, and the Mahindra XUV 3XO.
Showcased over the course of three mobility expos, the Tata Sierra will be showcased on 25 November. Not only has it incorporated the square lines and the glass roof from the original car, but also brought it in sync with the latest Tata design language, creating the best of both worlds. Spy images of the cabin reveal an interior quite similar to that of the Curvv, Safari, and the Harrier, but with a tri-cluster setup this time around.
The EV will get the same powertrain options as the Curvv, which means the same 45kWh and 55kWh battery packs, and only in an FWD guise. Under the hood of the ICE range, we can expect Tata’s 1.5-litre GDi turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel motors, both of which will be offered with AT and MT options.
Tata’s strategy has always been a multi-model game in every segment, and will hold its own on the back of the Curvv and the Sierra in this part of the market. Its biggest targets are the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and the Kia Carens Clavis, of which the latter will now go head-to-head with the upcoming Sierra.
Maruti Suzuki will take the wraps off its first ever flex-fuel vehicle at the upcoming Japanese Mobility Show, 2025. It is expected to be based on the international version, and will be showcased with the 1.5-litre K-Series petrol engine. While this exact model may not come to India, it previews the flex-fuel powertrain that will be offered with everything from the Ertiga and above.
Joining the Fronx Flex fuel will be a CBG version of the Victoris. It will have the same underpinnings as the CNG Victoris, and is a showcase of the automaker’s efforts to harness the potential of compressed bio gas in India. It is expected to be launched in production guise in 2026.
Lexus recently ended the production of its flagship LS sedan, but has already moved on to how the car will enter its next phase, which will be in the form of a luxury MPV. It’s expected to be positioned above the LM, but likely as a hybrid or an elextric this time. Teaser images reveal a six-wheel vehicle with lounge seating and orange backlighting.
At the launch of the Elevate SUV, Honda said that it would bring to India a compact EV within the next 3 years and that moment has finally come. It will unveil a compact electric SUV derived from the 0 SUV concept and will produce it in India post its launch for many global markets.
