Top Sedans and MPVs Launching in 2026 – CarWale

Sedans may have taken a backseat in the face of an SUV onslaught across segments, but that doesn’t mean they have gone away. In fact, 2026 may be the year of the sedan, with the complete C-segment sedan range expected to get an overhaul. They will be joined by a slew of MPVs also scheduled for updates in 2026. Here is the complete list and what you can expect.
Hyundai Verna Facelift
A long-overdue facelift for the Verna will happen in 2026 with a new exterior design and updated feature list. It is expected to align with the new Venue in terms of the latter, but will continue with its current powertrain options. Sedans might have taken a backseat, but the Verna is not without a good rival list, the likes of which include the Honda City, Skoda Slavia, and the Volkswagen Virtus, the latter two of which will get facelifts over the course of 2026.
Honda City Facelift
The Honda City is expected to get a major update over the course of 2026. This will be the third update for this generation of the City and is expected to include a new front and rear end as well as an upgraded feature list. This is expected to be the final update for the City before a new generation comes along by 2030. This final generational update will also include the e:HEV version.
Skoda Slavia/Volkswagen Virtus Facelift
A facelift for the Skoda Kushaq in January will give us an idea of what will come to the facelift of the Slavia/Virtus. A new front and rear design has already been confirmed, whilst we expect the feature list to include bigger screens, Level 2 ADAS, connected car technology, 360-degree camera, and an improved rear seat package.
Maruti Ertiga/Toyota Rumion/XL6 Facelift
The Maruti Ertiga and subsequently the Toyota Rumion, as well as the XL6, are all expected to get a facelift in 2026. The facelift is expected to be entirely cosmetic, both inside and outside, across all three cars, whilst the XL6 could get some additional Nexa features like bigger screens, improved Suzuki Connect, and at least one variant with Level 2 ADAS.
