Toyota Inaugurated Mirai its Fuel-cell Vehicle – Pilot Project

Hydrogen it powers the universe. It is abundant energy source. it is clean, it is ecofriendly and it is safe. it is easily available in water body and it can be generated by sludge and biomass. it has high energy density and can be stored in long period of time.

Mirai means future. due to the breakthrough in technology storage, usage and generation has become more efficient and easy. the easy conversion of hydrogen into electricity makes it a super ecosystem to run in car, public transport. because of this it as been used in many developed countries. it is also inline with India’s object of Atmanirbhar bharat.

Toyota Mirai is a Piolet project with iCAT (International Centre for Automotive Technology) the government agency. Transport gained by green hydrogen is the emerging option. Bigger cars, trucks, trains, and ships, long-distance travel will be driven by green hydrogen. medium and long-distance travel will be facilitated by this groundbreaking technology. It takes just 5 minutes to refuel the vehicle just like any petrol car. The Fuel cell technology developed by Toyota and ICAT is an innovative solution in which Hydrogen and oxygen reaction generates energy. The beauty of it is that the residual is in the form of water. In 2014 the first generation of Mirai was launched. it came with a 152bhp electric motor with 335Nm of torque. Till date, 18,000 units are sold.

While the second generation is a more powerful 182bhp electric motor with 300Nm of torque. Moreover, the vehicle now comes with 3 hydrogen tanks for a combined 141-liters of hydrogen storage. It can travel up to 650 km in one refuel. It also scored a 5-Star safety rating at the Euro-NCAP crash test.
