Upcoming car launches and reveals in February 2026 – Autocar India
The first 30 days of 2026 included notable car launches like the second-gen Kia Seltos, Mahindra XUV 7XO, Skoda Kushaq facelift, and Tata Punch facelift, as well as the highly-anticipated debut of the new Renault Duster. With January now in the rearview mirror, let’s dive into every new car launch and unveil lined up for February.
Nissan’s first unveil in February will be the Tekton, and it’ll be a big one. The Tekton is being readied as Nissan’s latest contender for the midsize SUV segment, and is a platform sibling to the 2026 Renault Duster. However, the Tekton will feature distinct styling that’s inspired by bigger Nissan SUVs like the Patrol. The interior of the Tekton may sport a different layout too, but with a largely similar features list.
Engine options for the Tekton are expected to comprise a 100hp 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol unit for entry-level variants, and a 163hp 1.3-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol mill in higher trim levels. Gearbox choices could include a 6-speed manual for both engines, with the 1.3-litre unit additionally offering a 6-speed DCT. Like the Duster, a hybrid powertrain could be introduced for the Tekton as well.
Originally scheduled for a mid-January debut, the Nissan Gravite compact MPV will now debut sometime in early February. The Gravite is effectively Nissan’s version of the Renault Triber, utilising the same platform and top hat but with design tweaks.
Interior changes will likely be limited to trim pieces and upholstery for the Gravite too. Under the bonnet, it’s expected to use the same 72hp 1.0-litre 3-cylinder engine as the Triber, paired with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT. A CNG kit for this engine is also a plausible prospect.
MG Motor India will finally launch its flagship ICE-powered model, the Majestor, this month. The Majestor SUV was first shown off at Auto Expo 2025 and is based on the Gloster, but will be positioned higher in MG’s line-up. Compared to the Gloster, the Majestor sports a more aggressive design language.
The Majestor’s interior layout is largely similar to that of the Gloster, but the former is expected to offer a meatier features list.Engine-wise, the Majestor will likely retain the Gloster’s 216hp 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel mill. This engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, with RWD and AWD options too.
The BMW X3 line-up will soon see the addition of a more powerful variant dubbed the ‘30 xDrive M Sport Pro’. This new range-topping X3 variant is powered by a stronger version of the existing 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, outputting 258hp and 400Nm. An 8-speed automatic gearbox funnels this grunt to all four wheels.
The X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro also features sportier fitments on the outside, such as gloss black trim instead of chrome, larger 20-inch alloy wheels, M badging, and a smoked finish for the headlights and tail-lamps. However, the interior layout and features list are retained from the lower X3 variants.
After a very long wait, Maruti Suzuki is expected to announce prices for its first EV offering, the e Vitara, in February. The e Vitara will land in the hotly-contested electric midsize SUV segment and rival the likes of the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Vinfast VF6, and Tata Curvv EV.
Two battery options – 49kWh and 61kWh – will be available for the e Vitara, both of which are wired to a front-mounted electric motor outputting 144-174hp, depending on the spec. The e Vitara delivers a claimed range of 543km in 61kWh guise.
Volkswagen pulled the covers off the India-spec Tayron last month, marking the German carmaker’s return to the premium three-row SUV segment. The Tayron is essentially a larger version of the Tiguan, and sports broadly similar design elements.
Where the Tiguan was launched in 2025 as a CBU, though, the Tayron is assembled in India via the CKD route. Echoing the Tiguan, the Tayron will initially launch in India in R-Line guise, which means it’ll pack a 204hp 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a 7-speed DCT and AWD. A lower-spec Tayron variant with milder exterior fitments and a less powerful engine will also join the line-up this year.
Unveiled in January, the Urban Cruiser Ebella is a rebadged e Vitara and will likely have its pricing announced this month too. The Urban Cruiser Ebella features a unique design for its fascia, while the rest of its styling is near-identical to that of the e Vitara.
It’s much the same story in the cabin and under the skin. Like the e Vitara, the Urban Cruiser Ebella gets 49kWh and 61kWh battery pack options with single-motor FWD setups outputting 144hp and 174hp, respectively. The 49kWh battery yields a claimed 440km range, while the 61kWh unit can travel up to 543km on a single charge.
During the promotional campaign for the ICE-powered Sierra, Tata also teased the production-spec Sierra EV, which could debut in full sometime this month. Compared to its ICE counterpart, the Sierra EV sports distinct front end styling, particularly the omission of a grille and a unique bumper design.
The Sierra EV is expected to offer 55kWh and 65kWh battery options. Since the Sierra EV shares its platform with the Harrier EV, RWD and AWD layouts will also be available at launch.
